Chester Edward's Story
I always wanted to be a Well Known Singer & Guitarist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a possiblity. As it turns out, they were wrong. But I love them for the support.
After leaving school in 1965 I volunteered for the draft and went into the Army. I served from August 1965 till August 1967 in active duty and another 4 years in reserves, I received my honorable discharge in 1971.
By that time I had lost contact with pretty much everyone I knew in school.
Now I am hoping to see a name on here that will jog my memory
I would give anything to reconnect with some of my child hood friends and find out how life turned out for them. James Fritz and Jim Lakes were as close as brothers to me. And as I have stated else where on here, Paulette Pridemore was my first love. She was the first girl I ever shed a tear for, and I would love to speak with her once more before my life ends.
That is something else that I think of often now. In June I will turn 63 and I have seen friends younger than myself pass on. Dying does not frighten me, but there are some things I would like to do and some people I would like to see again before t...Expand for more
hen. LOL way to serious huh?
Lets see now, a little bit about me when I was still in school. I lived downtown on Vine St. just a half a block down from Elder St. which was part of the area that was used for Findly Market on Saturdays, folks from all over Cincy came to Findly Market which now would be called a Farmer's Market.
I grew up and lived in the downtown area ( Over the Rhine ) until I went to the Army in 1965. I had so many great childhood friends back then and I do not have a clue where any of them are now, damned shame but I can't take all the blame for that as none of them tried to keep in touch with me either.
I came out of the service in 1967 and continued to live in that area until 1973 when I moved north to live here in Northwest Indiana, now I live about 70 miles South East of Chicago IL. in a small Indiana community where I raised my 3 children, lost my wife of 26yrs ( she passed away much to soon) then my children gave me 6 grandkids and now I have a great-grandaughter (10mths) and another one coming soon.
Now I am remarried and my wife also has 3 children and 7 grandkids right now, so together we have a large family.
